Mrs Charity Maduka, the wife of the founder and CEO of the Coscharis Group, Dr Cosmas Maduka, is dead. She died on Saturday evening in Nnewi, in Anambra state. Her death was confirmed by her daughter, Charity. On the company’s website, she is a co-owner with her husband. “In this capacity, from 1984 to 2003 she was formerly the General Manager who oversaw the administrative, legal, works / maintenance, export and technology teams of the organization. The company grew through the various strategic departments that she supervised within the organization.
She was a member of the group’s board of directors, in 2005. Afterwards, she became the Executive Chairman / COO of two of the subsidiaries of the Coscharis group-Coscharis Beverages Limited and Coscharis Properties Limited. The deceased was also a professional teacher and restaurateur. She attended the Nsugbe Teacher Training Institute in Anambra State from 1979 to 1981 and the Consertum Institute of Catering and Hotel Management, IdiAraba, Lagos State, from February to July 1983.
Mrs Charity Maduka taught for a short period at Akamili Central School, Umudim – Nnewi between October and December 1981 and also at Tolu III Primary School, Tolu Village, Ajeromi Ifelodun / Apapa, LGA, Lagos between January 1982 and January 1983. At the Coscharis Group, she attended various seminars/training courses on leadership and entrepreneurship, both at home and abroad.
Mrs Charity Maduka married Dr Cosmas in 1978 and the union produced three sons and a daughter.
