Armed men had kidnapped the principal, four others in Ondo State.
The principal of Auga Community Grammar School, Joshua Adeyemi, with his vice Ifedayo Yesufu and three other teachers were kidnapped at gunpoint.
The incident occurred Thursday afternoon along the Auga/Ise-Akoko Road in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of the state as the victims were travelling in a Toyota Corolla. They were rounded up by the armed men and taken into the forest. Blessing Okeke who was one of the victims was later released after hours of walking in the forest due to her being pregnant. It was Okeke who alerted the families of the victims who then reported the incident to the police. Ondo State Police Command spokesperson DSP Funmil Ayo Odunlami, who also confirmed the incident, said a police team had since been deployed in the area.He said the team was scouring the forest and the entire area to rescue the four remaining victims and capture the kidnappers.
